Samuel is a rare athlete. His all-natural build is not what you would expect from a receiver. He possesses a rare combination of speed, strength, and smarts. He is a very smooth runner with very good hands who runs solid routes. He can play both the outside receiver and slot positions and can use his size and speed to separate him from linebackers and defensive backs.
Samuel recently completed his 3rd season at Sherbooke (Accounting) and has been declared draft eligible in the NFL and CFL due to the fact that he has completed his studies in just 3 years. Not only is he a special athlete, but he is also a special student.
Samuel has been timed in the 4.4 range in the 40-yard dash with a career best time of 4.35. He is a rare natural athlete with a 40-inch vertical, 4.14 short shuttle, 10-foot, 1-inch broad jump and has also completed 23 reps of 225 pounds during offseason training.
At the 2007 CIS East-West Bowl, he was named the offensive player of the game with four catches for 83 yards for the East squad, which dropped a close 22-19 decision to the West all-stars.
Giguere was Quebec University’s top receiver this season and was 2nd in the nation with 45 catches for 871 yards and seven touchdowns. He averaged more than 19 yards per catch and 108 yards receiving per game in helping Sherbrooke compile a 4-4 record that left it tied with Montreal for fourth place. He was rewarded with a Conference All-Star and was named as a 1st Team All-Canadian.
Most recently Samuel competed in the Annual Shrine Bowl, where he caught one pass for 15 yards.
Samuel was a member of Team Canada in 2005 at the NFL Global Junior Championship.
